NEW ADDITIONS AT HARRAH’S RESORT SOCAL

Harrah’s expands resort offerings to include new restaurants, fitness center, salon and more

Harrah’s Resort Southern California has begun construction on its latest expansion to include the addition of an in-house brewery, SR76; 22 new guest rooms with unique wellness amenities for a customized experience; four new meeting rooms; the fresh juice and smoothie favorite, Corked copyRobek’s; a new dining option, KJ Chinese Kitchen; a sweat-worthy fitness center rebuild; significant renovations to the spa; as well as a scenic, pedestrian-friendly nature trail. The $14 million project is part of Harrah’s newest resort offerings, which first debuted in spring 2014 when the property unveiled a $160 million renovation that included a new hotel tower, Spiked cocktail bar, Corked wine and beer bar, a convention and entertainment center and a new indoor/outdoor restaurant, ‘Ritas Cantina.

“Our team is constantly developing new ideas and resort amenities that will further enhance the guest experience here on property,” said Janet Beronio, regional president and general manager of Harrah’s Resort Southern California. “The newest additions to our resort will continue to give our guests an unparalleled experience expected when visiting a first-class resort.”

harrahs 2Set amdist a burgeoning beer scene in San Diego, SR76 will be the first casino and Native American owned craft brewery in Southern California featuring a variety of styles of beer to showcase the history and agriculture of the surrounding area. The brewery is named after State Road 76, the original trail that ran alongside the San Luis River that the Tribe used to migrate back and forth from the coast during the seasons. The first beer to be created will be a Kölsch-style, which is a clear, all-barley pale ale. SR76 will offer at least four different styles of beer year round, rotating them seasonally, and producing 15-20 diverse brews throughout the course of a year. Tastings and tours will be available to guests.

The 22 new and on-trend guest rooms added to the resort will be wellness-inspired featuring amenities such as Vitamin C infused showers; customizable in-room add-ons; yoga mats with plenty of space for a morning sun salutation; aromatherapy; built-in ceiling speakers in the bedrooms and bathrooms for an enhanced listening experience; plush robes and slippers; and fitness equipment such as dumbells and jump ropes.

Totaling 2,633 square feet, the four new meeting rooms will be located on the second floor of the South Tower. These high-tech, spacious rooms will serve as an ideal location for business conferences and events.

Originating in Las Vegas, KJ Chinese Kitchen has chosen Harrah’s for its second location where it will bring a special element of Chinese culture to guests. In addition, KJ Chinese Kitchen will serve a signature fresh selection of seafood, prepared by chefs trained in the tradition of authentic Chinese cuisine.

Well-known in Los Angeles as a favorite smoothie stop, Robek’s will open its first location within a casino at Harrah’s this fall. Guests will enjoy a variety of hand-crafted fruit and vegetable drinks, smoothies, and juices using fresh and natural ingredients.

The fitness center will move to a brand new, nearly 3,000-square-foot home and receive a total transformation. Complete with state-of-the-art LifeFitness cardio, cross training, strength, TRX, and stability equipment, guests will find everything they need for the ultimate full-body workout.

Finally, a mile-long nature trail will open, taking guests and locals alike behind the property along the San Luis Rey River. This dog-friendly trail features benches for resting and enjoying the views.
The spa will also undergo a complete overhaul to offera casual, yet elevated, experience for guests. Located directly off the hotel lobby, the space will provide guests an ultimate relaxation experience in true Southern California-style with laidback and calming design elements. The Spa will also feature a barbershop, salon, and new treatments such as salt baths.

The additions of the wellness rooms, KJ Chinese Kitchen, Robek’s, the fitness center and the nature trail are expected to be complete in fall 2016. Guests will be able to get a first taste of SR76 before the end of the year and the completion of the spa is planned for summer of 2017.
