The Cabazon Band of Mission Indians announce $40K donation

The Cabazon Band of Mission Indians recognizes the importance of ABC Recovery Center to the Coachella Valley. ABC Recovery Center in Indio is the Valley's leading destination for addiction treatment and with that mission in mind, The Cabazon Band of Mission Indians announces a $40,000 donation to the Center.
Founded in 1963, ABC Recovery Center has helped countless souls embark on a lifetime of sobriety. As times change, so do the needs of the recovery community and ABC Recovery Center is doing what is necessary to keep up with those changes. Recent improvements to the facility have necessitated the need for more funding during this transition. The Cabazon Band of Mission Indians is committed to helping ABC Recovery Center and the community, and has stepped up to assist. Their $40,000 donation to ABC Recovery Center will help the Center become a better place to serve the needs of the Coachella Valley for generations to come.
Some of the improvements ABC Recover Center has made include hiring a licensed and board certified clinical supervisor as Clinical Director, contracting with a psychiatric nurse practitioner to assess and treat clients for mental health problems, hiring two new therapists to provide more comprehensive integrated treatment to clients, appointing a number of new program managers with greater experience in the field of addiction treatment, and creating a new online training program where all staff are trained upon hire and again annually to provide a safer, more clinically driven program.
"ABC Recovery Center has long been appreciative of its relationship with Fantasy Springs Resort Casino and the Cabazon Band of Mission Indians," says ABC Recovery Center CEO Chris Yingling. "ABC Recovery Center schedules events annually which are hosted by Fantasy Springs. Paul Ryan and his team are always generous and go the extra mile for our organization. We are a non-profit with little to offer the Tribe from a business perspective. The council members' recent decision to assist us financially in our transition astounds us and will allow us to pay it forward to our community and those we serve."
The Cabazon Band of Mission Indians is a federally recognized Indian tribe in the Coachella Valley and was the Tribe involved in the Supreme Court decision which legalized gaming on all Indian reservations in the United States. The Tribe owns several business enterprises including Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. Goals include growing and diversifying its business ventures to increase employment in the Coachella Valley, increasing the support of community programs, continuing to pursue economic self-sufficiency and preserving and educating the public about Cabazon culture.
